What is logistics visibility?

What is logistics visibility?

Logistics visibility plays an important role in a company’s overall supply chain visibility.

It is the ability of a business to oversee, manage and control, in real time, customer orders that are in transit from their point of origin to their final destinations (customers or companies)—and back, should errors have occurred in the order or deliveries are received as damaged.

Logistics visibility is often misconstrued as simply tracking trucks. This is far from the case. Logistics visibility provides deep insight into delivery processes and workflows; data can be modeled, analyzed, visualized and optimized on-the-fly to account for a wide range of factors, including changes in demand, co-mingling and consolidating orders, fleet and route disruptions, and so much more. By making data readily available to all stakeholders, including the customer, logistics visibility helps to proactively improve efficiency and security throughout all handoff points and allow customers to receive their orders with minimum friction.

This ebook, Your Practical Roadmap to Achieving Better Logistics Visibility, provides a clear practical roadmap for forward-thinking manufacturers, retailers and carriers that are looking to achieve end-to-end logistics visibility.
